Elon Musk's xAI has released Grok-2, featuring improved reasoning and integration with the Flux image generation model.
xAI has officially released Grok-2 and its smaller sibling, Grok-2 mini, to users on the X platform. The new models show significant improvements in reasoning, coding, and factual accuracy, placing them near the top of the LMSYS Chatbot Arena leaderboard alongside GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
A standout feature of the new Grok is its integration with the Flux image generation model. This allows users to generate high-fidelity images directly within the X interface. Furthermore, Grok-2 utilizes real-time data from the X platform to provide up-to-the-minute information on breaking news and trends.
The training of Grok-2 was reportedly done on the 'Colossus' cluster, which consists of 100,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs. xAI claims this is the most powerful AI training cluster in the world, and they have plans to double its capacity in the coming months to train Grok-3.
